The Council of each of these sections was appointed at the National Executive Committee
meeting held in Ilorin, Kwara State in July 2004.
In accordance with Article 2 of the Section Bye-laws, any member of the Nigerian Bar Association
shall be eligible for membership of either of the two sections, upon payment of the Section
dues for the current year to the Section Treasurer. He or she shall then be enrolled as a
member of the section.
Objectives
The objectives of the Section On Legal Practice (SLP) are clearly stated in Article 1 of
Section Bye-Laws as follows:

To promote the exchange of information and views among individual members of the Section
and other likeminded bodies as to the laws, practices, and procedures affecting the section
locally and internationally.

To assist members to develop and improve their legal services to the public

To undertake such related activities as may be approved by the Section’s council from time
to time.

To promote and provide Continuing Legal Education.
Eligibility For Membership of the Section on Legal Practice
Membership is open to any member of the Nigerian Bar Association upon satisfactory
completion of the Registration Form and the payment of the Section dues.
