The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Abubakar Balarabe Mahmoud, OON SAN expresses great concerns over incessant disputes emanating from some NBA Branches over elections into various offices.

The President of the Nigerian Bar Association Abubakar Balarabe Mahmoud, OON, SAN received with great shock the news of the demise of a jurist per excellence and a seasoned administrator, Hon. Justice Mustapha Adebayo Akanbi (Rtd) whose sojourn on earth ended in the early hours of Sunday, 3rd June 2018 after a brief illness at the age of 85 Years.
Democracy day is a day that has been set aside for us to reflect on the activities of the government and how much they have been able to promote the rule of law and continue the act of good governance as laid down by the heroes of this Nation who fought for the return of democracy after years of Authoritarian regime.

That this conference is holding today in Port Harcourt is a testimony of the excellent work the SLP leadership has done within a very short time since their reconstitution. It is surely a sign of better things to come. I am confident that very soon the SLP will record, like its sister Section, the Section on Business Law, the giant strides that will put it at par or even surpass the SBL.
